Well, that's what happens when you take three university courses with a heavy literature focus in one semester.

Do you happen to know of any good books to read in Portuguese that would be easy enough for a beginner to understand with a dictionary?

Three university courses?!?! Wow! You are impressive!

Hum.. i know some but i dunno if you will find then there. Well, i would recommend:

'Machado de Assis'(writer):

- Memorial de Aires
- Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas

The second one i guess that you possibily may find, but the first im not too sure.. so, i recommend you find for:

- Obras Completas (it contains all his books..)

If im not wrong, the publishing house is 'Ed. Nova Guilar'

...

You can find for Chronicles too.. A good chronist is 'Rubem Braga'.. and a great book of him is 'A borboleta amarela' (the yellow butterfly)..

Paulo Mendes Campos and Fernando Sabino are also good chronists..

....

But if you like poetry you may try to find 'Carlos Drummont de Andrade':

- 'Alguma poesia'
- 'Antologia Poética' (Ed. José Olimpo)

or his complete books (Obras Completas)

..

I hope it help a little bit and i also hope you like then.. =]

....

Hello again! =P

I was reading your 'Bio' (info´s page) and just felt some big emotion when you wrote about the brazilian portuguese.. it´s really beautiful.. so.. i just needed to say that to you, just to you know..

kisses*

....

"Languages are my passion (as if that weren't already obvious). I always want to learn more of them, but as of right now, I'm only studying Spanish and (Brazilian) Portuguese. I've studied Spanish for about eight years now, and I am functionally fluent. But I have to say that my favorite language is Portuguese. There's something about its sounds; when people speak, it sounds like the most beautiful legato singing. In my mind, it's the most phonetically beautiful language in the world."

It´s very beautiful!*

And don't worry about talking too much or about your English; your English really is very good. It has a very informal, conversational feel, like someone who knows English as their first language.

(mizbrified_box from Martzb_mp3)

It seems that you haven't updated at Martzb_mp3 for a hella-long time. Do you still want to keep up posting? Thats okey if you don't (and the user info needs a bit of a clean up anyway ^^) but if it's for some reason like you being away or just busy at the time, TELL ME and you'll be kept on. Woot.

(Err umm..due to the extreme age of this update I'll knock your name off cause you're probably not here ^^)
