Second Spell

[Phone]
So this is the kind of thing I was warned about when I first arrived here...

I won't be going after my target. This is wrong. I implore all of you to listen to what your hearts and minds tell you is the right thing to do. We can't let them manipulate us like this. Even if they seem to know how to frighten us. And... tempt us.

Please.

[ Hi neighbor. That boy who was hanging up his mother's laundry is now outside of his house at 1251 Williams, one home over. He's cautiously walking around the perimeter of his home when he sees her with a nervous streak. He has something long strapped to his back wrapped in a yellow beach towel, but there's a hilt sticking out from the top. It's very obvious there's a sword there. ]

Hey.

[ Gets right to business. ]

You got a letter, didn't you?

[Terra jumps at the sound of his voice, but relaxes when she realizes who spoke. She takes in his appearance - especially the sword hilt.]

I did.

You as well?

No, I did not receive a letter, but my friends got one.

... I'll do what I can to protect them.

Do you have a weapon? I have two short swords I meant to give to someone else, but I can't find him.

You didn't? That's good. At least you should be safe.

Thank you, but I don't need a weapon. I won't be going after my target.

It must be nice to think there are people willing to listen and yet most likely can't... or won't due to personal reasons.

...Perhaps. But I'll do all I can.

Did you receive a letter as well?

You mean the letter to terminate another person? No. I found it ridiculous to participate in someone else's dirty work when I have my own goals to accomplish first.

That's good to hear.

Your own goals? Such as?

[ It doesn't take her long to locate her target at all, as Beatrice hardly has any strife with eliminating her target. Her methods, however, are something to be considered.

And as she's always been one for grand and surprising entrances, approach her in such a mundane manner seems too trite, too dull. Her weapons are carefully hidden on her person, though her motivation is not something she works to conceal as she gracefully moves across the lawn. ]

.... You would leave yourself defenseless amongst this chaos? How curious, how curious.

[Terra tenses, instantly on guard. She may not like fighting, but she's had more than her fair share of battles, and she knows an enemy when she sees one. Her hand instantly goes to the poorly concealed sword wrapped in a towel at her waist, though she hesitates to draw it... yet.]

Not quite defenseless.

[ Violence comes naturally to Beatrice, sadly enough. While the realision of her humanity whilst trapped within this realm is rather agitating, it would be cowardice to back down from the task she's been given, nor does she hold any regard for the innocent blood that may stain her hands. She merely glances at the hand movement with obvious amusement, as if she were watching a child pretend to fight.

As if she were a feline playing with its prey, which isn't far from the reality of it all. She makes a noise of disappoval in the back of her throat, but the smirk remains. ]

What an ill-mannered host. Is this the proper way to treat a guest?

[A fragment of doubt creeps into her mind; did she react too harshly?]

Considering the circumstances, I don't think being on guard is rude at all. We're all on edge right now.
