"Sir, it would appear that we have an intruder." Jarvis, ever calm. He interrupted the program and tapped the screens into the CCTV system: just outside of the curved garage drive, flattened against the side of the Saleen S7, was a black form. "Thank god for that, eh?"
How the intruder had defied Stark's security measures was baffling. Jarvis filed it away as a failure on his part; until the most rudimentary of motion sensors at the had picked up on his movement, he had not been alerted to the threat.
Tony did a double-take and nearly dropped the wrench as a pixilated image of what was clearly the dark silhouette of a cowl against his shop wall appeared on the panorama display of screens. The surprise (surprised annoyance) faded and was replaced by something smoldering, bubbling in his chest, something like... anger. Or extremely surprised annoyance. Or just good old plain angry anger. Tony wasn't good at indentifying those emotion-type things.
He was about to make a comment on Jarvis' monitoring skills, but decided to save it for the smackdown on Batman. He didn't even want to know.
"I thought we'd taken care of the rodent problem."
Stepping out the shadows with careful strides, Batman came into the brighter light of the shop. He kept his hands at his sides, trying to make it apparent that he was the one in control of the situation while at the same time not looking as if he was trying to threaten Stark-- Tony. He had been doing quite well sneaking about until he had purposefully tripped the simple motion sensors, needing to be known but not wanting to be a complete surprise. Batman fingered the blades on the side of one of his gauntlets carelessly, almost as if he didn't realize that he was tracing them up to their points and down again.
"I need a favor."
Batman would be lying if he said that he wasn't nervous about Tony finding out who he was. He had to be more careful than ever.
"Favor?" Tony could not help but be incredulous. Or, more importantly, filled to the brim with pride. But there was no law he couldn't be both. It wasn't every day that Batman came around looking for help, was it? That was an ego-swelling thought alone, let alone an actual event. But Tony supposed even Batman with his infamous bat-tools needed a hand or two when he was in a tight spot. And that was completely innuendo-free. Should be. Kind of
