The desire to help those in need is our highest calling.

One must take care that it does not become a blind spot as well, for enemies to strike.

Great minds think alike.

I see you also have advised caution.

Caution and a level head often work wonders, I've found.

Mastery of all things begins with one's self.

[Great, he's in Abstract Advice Mode.]

Do you think it is a lure, Master Splinter?

Very likely. Until we know otherwise, we should investigate, but carefully.

It may be that someone in need of help can reach us all, yet somehow, cannot tell us anything more...

[But not very likely. Splinter thinks this smells fishy, and he's got a big nose.]

It may be that they're not aware that we can hear them.

[the thought is said mildly. Don knows better than to argue with Splinter's ideas on a situation. His father is usually right.]

The fact that they can be heard all across the ship, without a change in volume, is...odd. Though to say its abnormal would be inaccurate.

[Splinter is glad to see Donatello apply himself to the situation. Perhaps this will give them all something to focus on, after the recent - upset.]

It is possible, but I believe it would require great strength.

So, we shouldn't launch into finding them? What if it's not a "them" at all, like a, a ghost? Or something.

[He knows he can't stop and help every person in the world, but... ]

Launches should always be prepared. [The remainder of the metaphor has to do with boats, and well - perhaps he'll not follow that train of logic right now.]

Precisely. It would not be impossible for the person to be reaching from the astral plane, but speaking to so many would require great strength.

Yeah, I guess it would.

[He's thinking about another spirit, though... she was powerful, and she still couldn't speak to him.]

Uh, thanks. For that information.

[To speak to many in this way requires power. This does not mean that strength alone makes such a feat possible.

Or that's what Splinter would say if he was, yaknow, asked.]

I may provide knowledge, but what is done with it is up to you.

I wish the possibility of it being a trap wasn't so... big. Otherwise...

It does not mean we should not attempt to help. Only to do so with caution.

... good advice, actually.

[Stop talking to Remy, Daddy, he's a jerk.]

Understood, Master Splinter.

[But he was complimenting him! Also, Splinter is polite to EVERYONE.]

I know.

[Seriously, out of ALL the people on the boat, Leonardo's the one who would know this anyway. You're his best student after all.]

[Leo puffs a little at that, but hopefully not noticably.]

It wouldn't feel right moving without Don anyway. [Meaning that they'd only go if they knew someone was in trouble, and if they knew they could help. And even then only in a two-man team since someone has to stay and protect you and Don. 8|]

[Yeah, yeah. He'll bap you over the head if you get too full of yourself.]

Yes, it would be unwise to leave your brother behind.

[You and Raphael on a mission together. That would not end well.]
