I had no idea it came out already. Someone told me it had been pushed back to next summer. I'll have to check when I can see it the soonest, and where (I might have to leave the country, literally.)
The tickets are on pre-sale here in the US, but the first showing isn't until December 14th (or midnight Thursday/Friday morning). You've got plenty of time to find a theater! So no worries about spoilers from me, at least for another 35 days!
Wow. I mean, I can't get past the thought that it's that close. I found that it's supposed to start in Germany on December 13th, probably because new movies always start on a Thursday, and in the Netherlands even on the 12th! And we live right on the border. I don't think they will start to sell tickets anytime soon, though.
Can you believe it? Legolas! A bit difficult to take without Aragorn and I must confess that I don't like The Hobbit all that much, but just to see Middle Earth again ... and I trust Peter Jackson.
I'm also looking forward to the return to Middle Earth, but I will truly miss Aragorn and Boromir. The whole Fellowship, really.
I wonder how much of Gollum's escape from Mirkwood will be covered? Maybe we'll get an Aragorn cameo by the third film? There's always hope....
The Hobbit's story is Prance's "past" so to speak. Amazing how time travel works. I'll know all about what he's in for as far as adventures go, yet he won't even realize that I exist (yet). It makes me a bit sad to know that there's no way for him to come back for a visit, or even to send me a sign that he's okay. But it will be incredibly good to see him in action again. *wistful smile*
The amount of time that has passed is scary. I remember taking my younger child to see The Two Towers after school (maybe more than once :)) and he had his 21st birthday last weekend! Enjoy the movie and I'm sure your dreams will be enough to see you through sleeping on the floor :)
It still feels like yesterday at times, doesn't it??? Twenty-one, oh my gosh. Pip will be 20 this Thanksgiving, and I can hardly believe that.
The first time I saw LotR, I had not read any of the books. I spent the entire weekend with a thousand questions! This time I've read The Hobbit, so I have a little bit of an idea what's about to happen. I hope that will help me get a little bit of sleep this time!
There's still plenty of time for you to get one too! The movie doesn't open until Dec 14th, but the ticket were on presale. I love going to opening night to see all the die-hard fans in their costumes!
Wow, that's a really long way to go to see a movie! Usually the closest place for me is about an hour and a half round trip, but we've had a couple of new theaters built a little closer than that which are pretty nice. Hopefully they'll be showing one of the versions and I can catch it a few times a bit closer to home and save some travel time. Hope you have the same luck!
Well, when you think about it, it *has* been a while! Sorry I haven't been on too much, been down with bronchitis which, for once, didn't go on into pneumonia. I'll keep trying to hook up with you to squee!!!
Gawd, Lil' Pip was in 5th grade at the elementary school when Prance left here for the last time. Now she's a sophomore in college!
Sorry to hear you've got the bronchitis again already, but I'm glad the pneumonia was held at bay. Email me when you're on, 'cause I check the email more often than the IM.

You will be careful with spoilers, won't you
