In a world as complicated as the Avatarverse, for a movie, the first point would be deciding just what it wants to say, I think. The first movie, in my opinion, should have its focus on Aang and his fight with his destiny: is he the Avatar? Does he want to be the Avatar? Is there any out for him if he's NOT the Avatar ( Read more... )

Hmm, interesting how you have Aang and Katara not being quite so close in the first movie. And I kinda like the scenario of Zhao trying to get Zuko to kill the fish.

This definitely sounds like a better movie than the one we got.

I think that part of the movie should be about the three of them becoming friends? In the series we have all the first season for them to build up their relationship, so even if they become friends immediately, they still have a lot of eps in which they get to now each other. On a movie, it wouldn't be quite like that.

Since it's an important relationship, and even if based on the show, it should start on its own, so... at first, they're not that close. Aang would be a goof, and Katara isn't very happy about Aang not understanding how bending is actually serious.

*sigh* You totally should have directed the movie. The only thing I think I'd add is the Blue Spirit, cause while at first glance you think it isn't all that important, it's actually really important to Zuko's development. I mean, it's that first REAL hint of Zuko having good inside him. So, I don't know. I haven't watched the actual movie yet, but I'm a little afraid to. I have not heard a single good review of the movie.

I think that Blue Spirit would have to be on the second movie, since on this one I'm not giving that much focus on Zuko? Because I do consider him important.
