Cursed.
    My dear Akane:

It’s been two weeks since the last time I saw you. My deepest regret is that my training has broken us apart once more, but I won’t give up: I’ll become stronger than Saotome and then I’ll be able to go to your side once again.

“Isuzu-saaaan! Wait for me, please!”

My training is taking me to Hong Kong. There’s a monk with a secret jutsu that I need to learn. I don’t know when I’ll be able to go back to your side. For now, please…

“Isuzu-saaan, it’s me the one that’s running late!”

Even though Ryoga had moved away from the first girl, barely interrupting the mental drafting of the letter he had to send to Akane (God only knew how long it could take to send a letter from Hong Kong to Nerima), he wasn’t as lucky with the second teenager, who was running as fast as she could while at the same time trying to put on a shoe.

Ryoga had the exact time to see black eyes widening, surprised, before the girl moved her arms in front of her to try and stop from crashing against him, making him lose his balance. It was reflex to try and hold unto her forearms to remain standing, but the one thing it caused was pulling her along him in a direct journey against the sidewalk while he was more than ready to work as a pillow of sorts.

“Oh, no, ma’am, careful!” The martial artist shouted in the few seconds before they completely lost their balance, but it was too late. An elderly woman that had been watering her garden with her hose was distracted, making the water stream to go higher and, just like Murphy’s law dictated, directly against them.

Ryoga closed his eyes while he felt the thin body of the girl impact against his chest, his back against the sidewalk, and the water pour over them. He took a deep breath, praying that the girl wouldn’t freak out: there were few things he hated more in the world than having to run away as P-chan while dragging his backpack.

Of course, it also wouldn’t be good if the girl decided she wanted to adopt him as a pet. He belonged only to Akane! It didn’t matter if the other girls were pretty or if they…

“Huh?”

He opened his eyes. In front of him, also in a pile of clothes that probably had been from the teenager, there was another pig. A female pig, most probably, also black, although she was definitely bigger than his current form. What shocked him even more, though, was the fact that the pig’s eyes were the same black ones he had seen on the teenager that had crashed against him.

He blinked. And blinked again.

“Kui?” He copied the other piglet’s answer, without understanding a thing. Was she another one of the cursed by Jusenkyo? Someone like him, who would understand the hardships that went along with their curse? Oh, the sweet relief of thinking that someone finally understood him made his eyes tear.

There were steps coming closer to them. The other piglet rose her head and he followed her example, finding a pair of long, long girls and the first girl he had passed.

“Isuzu-san!” Okay, the fact that the piglet could speak wasn’t part of the curse, as far as he knew. The ex-teenager-now-piglet stood up in two legs, pointing at him with a hove. Her eyes were shining in the exact same way his were. “Did you see that!? He transformed!”

Ryoga tried - and failed - to keep a shiver from running all of his body after the look the girl called ‘Isuzu’ sent his way.

“Yes, Kagura. Of course I saw.”
