Oh, and Sherlock...

Well, it just goes without saying, doesn't it? The love. I can't see Sherlock as being terribly sexual, but maybe Watson can help him with that ( Read more... )

That's probably true, but it looks so obvious to me it's hard to believe that it's not noticeable even to someone who doesn't play. Fair enough - it's not noticeable.

I suppose that it's a comfort that they're not going to run out of books anytime soon, but three? When series in the US run to 24 or so? And there's so much crap on TV. *is watching Bargain Hunt* It's like finding a jewel in a manure heap. Now I'm starting to sound like my mother...

Hi! Do you get Sherlock on TV, or do you have to buy it? If it's something we export, then it's showing the very best of UK TV. There is so much rubbish!

It seems that the violin-playing isn't obvious to non-musicians. Hmm. Interesting.

As for writing, I'm not sure I'd want to mess with the way they portray it. Everyone assumes that Sherlock and Watson are together, Watson keeps protesting that they're not, Sherlock is amazingly oblivious. I love that! Mostly when I write, I do it because the show isn't doing it right. Like CSI. You know what I mean. There's a possibility of some Lewis/Hathaway fic. Do you watch that? That's worth searching out.

The second season is well worth watching! Especially The Hounds of Baskerville. Chilling!

I've started reading some of the stories too, and it's especially impressive how the episodes are linked to the originals but updated at the same time. A lot of thought has gone into this. I read an article about how the conspiracy story is the new ghost story, and this is how they updated The Hound of the Baskervilles - Link here

As for Lewis, you should check it out! It's the follow-on to Inspector Morse, if you've come across that. It's as intriguing, as intelligent and as well-written as Morse was, with the addition of a very eye-friendly Laurence Fox. Here's Amazon's page, if you fancy trying it out - Lewis. The fanfic seems to be well-written too. A pleasure to read.
