AWOL

Jul 27, 2009 08:42

My voice has gone missing. It has now been gone for two days and I would kind of like it back. It would be ever so nice to be able to talk at more than a very hoarse whisper level. Cough and sore throat are the prime suspects in the disappearance.
Anyhow, I'm staying home from work again and will try to coax my voice back by constant gargling.

ok do not talk at all whispers are actualy more straining on the voice then regular talking. (I've lost my voice many times and its bad since generally when working with the public they need you to be able to talk). as my dr said the best thing is to rest it completely no talking or attempting to talk and to keep the larynx as moist as possible, ie drink heaps of watter and if you aren't drinking water have a boiled lollie or something that will continually release moisture in your mouth. when I start this program I normaly only have 2 days of no talking and then the third day I wake up in the morning and I've competly forgotte to not talk and my voice come out perfectly fine.

I hate losing my voice, I feel so isolated! At least you have i/net and LJ at home, yay. I once lost mine with no i/net at home. I was limited to text messaging. To cheer me up, a girlfriend wrote me an "old fashioned" letter and posted it to me.
I hope that you feel better soon. and perhaps receive some nice post in the meantime :)
