Happy birthday to my country! Canada is 146 years old today, and it is the best country in the world. I'm proud and happy to call this beautiful, enlightened, safe, endlessly fascinating country my homeland. I am a very lucky woman; so are we all who live here and can share in this land's bounty ( Read more... )

Happy Canada Day!

You may have Daniel Craig, on the condition that I get Pierce Brosnan ;)

I haven't much cared for the Craig Bond films I've seen. While it probably didn't help that the first of his I saw was Quantum of Solace, which is probably the only Bond film that needs to be watched in order with the previous one, I just don't see him as Bond. Nothing against him personally, I'm sure he's a nice chap, but to me he looks like a nightclub bouncer who's wandered into M's office by mistake...

I am very fond of Mr. Craig. He's lovely, and I enjoy that they take his shirt off for every possible scene! We watched Skyfall last night and it made me cry. However, starting with Quantum of Solace is probably not the best start, as I found it a very weak movie, and kept having to ask questions about it, even though I'd seen Casino Royale the week before!

Pierce Brosnan is quite lovely! I'm looking forward to seeing his Bond films, although we're going to watch in order from the beginning next, starting with Mr. Connery.

I had a very relaxing Canada Day, thanks! Finished up a Pratchett, which is an excellent use of time!

Pierce Brosnan is quite lovely!

He is rather :)

Have you ever seen a tv show called Remington Steele? It was that in which I first spotted him - a rather silly show, but great fun and he was perfect in it. Alas, they wanted him to be Bond while he was still under contract to the tv studio and so he missed his first chance at it - we got Timothy Dalton instead. Which was also good, in its way of course.

we're going to watch in order from the beginning next, starting with Mr. Connery.

Are you going to include Never Say Never Again? It's a sort of semi-unofficial Bond film, starring Mr Connery, made by someone other than the usual lot.

So there is no Broccoli in Never Say Never Again? Martin owns the entire Bond canon, but I don't know if he has NSNA, have asked but not yet been answered. (most communication is via e-mail)

I used to LOVE Remington Steele, and had such a crush on him. He was such a good looking young man, and he's aging beautifully.
