I just finished "The Wild Things" by Dave Eggers and while it would definitely be a quick read (it is in the 250 page range but the font is big and the chapters are shortish) it was a really good reinterpretation of "Where the Wild Things Are." (Living with a book seller has total perks.)
If you find anything, please let me know. I'm dying of boredom.
I just finished The Boleyn Inheritance which is a kind of sequel to The Other Boleyn Girl. Both were good, quick reads, if you like that era and romance coupled with wild historical speculation. For a good accurate historical read, I'd recommend Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraser. I've seen neither of the movies made, but enjoyed the books.
If I don't find something new to read soon I'm going to cave and pick up the Twilight series.

It's long, got angsty bits, and it's really well written.

Do you like other supernatural stories? I like Patrica Briggs and Maria V Snyder.
This series by Briggs is good. http://www.amazon.com/Moon-Called-Mercy-Thompson-Book/dp/0441013813
Snyder's series is excellent: http://www.amazon.com/Poison-Study-Maria-V-Snyder/dp/0778327116/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255784891&sr=1-1 and she's branching off to write more in that universe with other characters.
