They head up the freeway to Disneyland. Karl hates LA as much now as he did when he made his choice and left home for Viggo, but they had to come down and pick Orli up anyway, so there was no real loss. Besides, they're not staying in LA. They've booked a suite at the Disneyland Hotel, privacy as guaranteed as the staff can make it. They'll go in early, before the crowds ("Privilege Disney gives employees," says Orli, winking at Hunter) and tackle Pirates first- get that out of the way before their chances of any anonymity are done in by some sharp-eyed fan.
The rest of the time they'll just wander, two men and a boy, from place to place until Hunter's tired, then go back to the hotel and the pool and lay about. Stay the night, and head back the next morning.
It's the most ordinary thing they've done yet, out in the world. It feels good, planning it, organizing it, carrying it out.
After they've gotten there, gone to the hotel and checked in, had dinner, and sorted out the beds (Hunter wants his own bed. "I'm big enough, you know." But he wants his two bears in it as well. "So they don't get sad 'cause they aren't at home") Orli reads Hunter a story while Karl checks messages and leaves them. He leaves one for Vig, telling him where they are and why, then comes in to say good night to Hunter. Orli goes for a shower, leaving Hunter and his dad to talk the day through, make plans for tomorrow, and snuggle a bit before Hunter falls asleep.
Karl joins Orli in their bedroom, nuzzling up behind him as Orli dries off. "Thanks for coming with us, love," he says, taking the towel, rubbing Orli's back gently. "I love your enthusiasm. Undimmed after all this time. I love you."
Orlando turns in his arms and kisses him gently on the lips. "Come on, I'm tired. Take me to bed, and hold me?" he whispers into Karl's ear.
They fall asleep almost immediately. Orlando curled up into Karl's arm, Karl with one leg out from under the covers, the way he always does. They're comfortable with each other now, not needing Viggo between them to link to each other. The door to the other bedroom is open, a light on in the bathroom for Hunter, "So I can find it. Ok, Dad?"
It'd been part of the arrangement that Nat had had to agree to: "I'm not hiding anything, Nat. It's my life, and this is how I live it. We won't fuck in front of him, but I'm not going to pretend they aren't my lovers." She'd gone silent at his bluntness, then slowly spoken. "Fair enough," she'd said, and dropped it. Karl'd smiled to himself, then said, "Thank you, Nat," and left it at that. Nothing hidden, not anymore. Except themselves, tomorrow, at Disneyland.
