I was Googling "do Scientologists celebrate Christmas" when I came across a similar question on answerbag.com If someone is not a Christian, why do they celebrate Christmas, Easter, and other religious holidays?
Yes, the question is worded really badly. But, I understood the gist of what they were trying to ask. Anyway, I expected the top 14 answers ( Read more... )

That is the trouble with the internet. Give any fucking moron a forum for their fucking moronity, and they will spew it at full force.

Dumbfucks.

Just because many celebrate the day for a different reason, doesn't mean that the holiday has lost it's meaning.

A very good point. Though I am so tired and fed up with how commercialized Christmas (and other holidays) has become. Whether or not a holiday retains its meaning really comes from within - not based on external factors, IMO.

And all your other points about the inaccuracies - to say the least - of the posters are excellent too.

So, do Scientologists celebrate Christmas?
I still want an answer on that. *lol
Coming from a country where Scientology is still pretty "exotic" I would like to learn about that.

I by the way try to not celebrate Christmas but, god (sorry) damn it, it´s two (sometimes three) free days. If they´d take away those days when you´re not celebrating I´d seriously consider to buy a Christmas tree! ;-)

I was unable to get a conclusive answer. It seems that Christmas is NOT a holiday endorsed by Scientology. Basically: God, Jesus, Religion... it's all stuff we've been "brainwashed" with. However, many Scientologists do celebrate Christmas because their accustom to it.

The best thing to do is Google it, like I did. I'd give you links... but, I read through quite a bit. And, I really couldn't tell if some of the links were legit or propaganda.
