Happy New Year! I try to keep politics out of this space, too, for good or ill. But I'm sharing your hope for a better 2015.

Sharing your hopes for a better year ahead for the Ukraine. I can't imagine how tense the family situation must be when it comes to this stuff.

The family situation is under control but not awesome. Thanks for the support! I hope this year is good for everyone.

Also, just FIY, lots of Ukrainians find it offensive for Ukraine to be called "the Ukraine." I know lots of English-speaking media make this mistake (which, I wish they wouldn't) but I just thought I'd point it out. There's a good explanation of what the difference is and why it's kind of a big deal right now here.
