I enjoyed this backstory for Sheppard and Jack. I didn't mind the timeline jump, and I thought Jack's canon tragedy being included worked well with the rest.
I'm glad you liked it, and I'm glad the timeline jumping worked for you!
And as soon as I decided on Jack all of the stuff with Charlie and the divorce and everything just jumped to the front and demanded to be written. lol, I almost wished I could keep going with it, but since this is supposed to be about the animals I kept reining myself back down to earth ^_^
The current pace of the story is killing me. Is anyone else hating it?
Nooo! Not at all! The pacing is perfect. I loved reading about their puppyhood (how Sheppard got his name! Oh, Jack) and the background information is essential if we want to understand where they're coming from. Love this story.
(Couple of minor typing errors. Do you mind if someone points that out or do you hate it?)
I'm really relieved to hear that no one is hating the pacing! lol, when I was writing it, it seemed like I'd just be getting to the good part before having to reign in the muse and jump forward. lol, maybe I can toss out some short stories later to fill in the gaps ^_^

not at all! You know how it is, you read something too many times and you just start skipping over the errors lol Add to that the fact that I am a master of misspelling words with other words, and my spellcheck-fu fails me.
plus I'm using Sheppard and Shepherd at the same time...that's just asking for trouble ^.^
Very much enjoyed reading the 2 chapters you've written so far. I like how you wove Ronon's back story in with the Wraith, though my heart breaks for what he's gone through. Hopefully now he's free from them, he'll have a better life. Also enjoyed Shep's introduction (and how he came to be named so *g*), it made me sniffly to see how he put himself out there to protect Ronon even as the other dog was nearly tearing his throat out - that is such a John thing to do, when he's trying to help someone. Really hope you continue with this, because I'd love to see where you take it. Well done!

lol, it wasn't that bad for a German Shepherd to be named Shepherd. But it stumped me for a bit with the spelling being different! Luckily Jack made a great scapegoat for that! XD

While I love the cooky dynamic of Rodney and John, Ronon and John have such a great brothers in arms thing about them. X3 So anytime I can play with that I jump at it

I was hungry for transformation/alternate versions of the team fics today, and found this on a rec list. It is just totally made of awesome! Just so cool, and fun. :D *adores*
I so, so want more... but wah, it's been so long since you've updated! Please, please tell me you're still planning to write more! Please? *does her best sad puppy impression*
^___^ I definitely plan on writing more...I'm just not sure when. *sheepish grin* My muse decided to pack up and hide, and the next chapter (which is half way done) just doesn't feel right yet. Also, I made the mistake of allowing myself to be introduced to a new show (NCIS) which has decided to completely take over my life and imagination.
umm... sorry, those are a lot of excuses, but the truth is that I definitely plan on finishing it when I get back into a SGA frame of mind.
Very glad to hear you're still planning to do more - even if it will be a while. :) I do understand the whole inspiration-deserting-you thing, as well as the new-show-temporarily-taking-over-your-brain thing. (NCIS is awesome. *bg*)
I'll just be hanging about, (im)patiently awaiting more, then... And hey, if at some point you should need a beta, or just a reader to give a general opinion/bit of encouragement, do feel free to drop me a line. I've quite a bit of experience in that department. ;D
awww, SGA fans are so encouraging >w< that's why I love you all so!
I know!!! *keeps shooting sideways glances at NCIS* It's just so wonderful! But ack! I could kick the writers sometimes. They have SUCH wonderful characters, but there's a whole world of great storyline potential that they don't ever touch! Helloooo?!?! Tony's dad vs Gibbs anyone?? I'd pay to see that episode! =D
Thank you so much for your offer! I may just take you up on that as I have found myself taking on SGA Ficathon (why I would do that...I have no idea. I just found myself filling out the form @.@). And now I am slightly at a loss since I've gotten my prompt!
