When I saw Watchmen yesterday, I was also supposed to see the new Star Trek trailer which was released this week to go with it. They did show a Star Trek trailer, just not the new one (the second one, IIRC; with young Kirk driving his car off a cliff). Good thing I saw it online; each trailer so far has looked better than the last. They also ( Read more... )

You couldn't avoid seeing the penis. It was all over the place. I was amused, because it was causing other people in the theater to cringe.

(His penis is much bigger in the movie than it is in the graphic novel. I wonder about the significance.)

There wasn't a lot of reaction in my theatre, but it seems to be a hit on the IMDB.com boards.

Hah hah hah. Cars. Kirk can pilot a spaceship but third gear's a fucking mystery. What a shithead.

It's canon (TOS episode "A Piece of the Action") that Kirk can't drive a stick at all. Anyway, he doesn't pilot the ship himself; he justs sets a course and leaves it up to Sulu to get them there.

I knew nothing about The Watchmen but LOVED the movie! The soundtrack was awesome. I was singing along with "Sound of Silence" during the cemetary scene. . .bobbing my head along with 99 Luftballoons. the history recreations were really good.

If you liked the story, check out the graphic novel if you get the chance.

I think Travis has it. Someone took the graphic novel and turned it into a moving cartoon story. Or actually the graphic drawings don't move but they move from screen to screen with narration.
