Yum! I'm so used to the crap in the can that I can't even imagine what homemade tastes like. Oh I did have ravioli @ a trattitoria(sp?) once and it was deep fried and not covered in sauce, strange and different.

I've heard that mint leaves can be notoriously variable in their strength of flavor. Make of that what you will.

For this bit of advice, you now owe me (at least) one drink made with the mint vodka. (mintka?) Assuming it won't be ready in time for Shore Leave, we can make other arrangements.

it's not vodka based, but this is an excellent spring and early-summer drink, using Mint. (I like to bring it to croquet games - SJC vs. Naval Academy ( ... )

There's leaves in the freezer for that purpose. Freezing them breaks the fibers and lets the flavor out easier.
