Last night, Q sent me to the store with a list of ingredients for something she wanted to cook.¹ Bacon was on the list; and since the store had bacon on sale (two packs for $I-forget-how-much) I bought two packs. I cooked the second pack of bacon today. ¹It was seasoned eel wrapped in bacon served with basmati rice. Also yum.
We had a pot luck dinner at a friends and damn if one person brought pasta and the other brought some antipasto. Neither realized the gravity of this error until it was too late

I've never heard of bacon salt! I'm not sure I see the point of it being certified kosher, as I doubt there are all that many Orthodox Jews who are craving the taste of bacon. I'm by no means observant, but even I generally avoid bacon. What's actually in this stuff, anyway?
I don't feel like going downstairs to check the ingredients (I should be asleep by now), but it's probably similar to the artificial flavoring used in imitation bacon bits (not to mention that they've been making TVP faux-bacon for many years now).
