Daphne didn't even bother to change out of her charcoal gray wrap dress, black tights, and maroon suede booties. Her heels clicked against the tile floor, feeling more business than she would have liked for the setting.
"Have you been waiting long?" she asked Terry, setting her bag down before moving in for a much-needed kiss.

But alas, they hadn't.
Terry straightened up, and pulled out her chair for her. And of course, began to pour the wine.
"How was today?"

"Horrible," she sighed, pulling away to take her seat. "Everyone is in a frenzy over the post today! Everyone is looking to push back their events until it blows over. Terrible...just terrible."

He turned to Daphne and handed her her wine glass. "Here, this will make you feel better."
Luckily for him, his day had been just fine. He'd discovered a few traces in the ashes from the recent fires, and he was in the midst of analyzing the fibers now. He wished it wasn't so top secretive so he could share more with his girlfriend.
Running a hand through his hair, he added, "Speaking of, I'd feel better if we were staying together during all of this... I hate not being by you." An uncontrollable shiver ran up his spine as he flashed back to the World Cup where Daphne was yanked from his arms... That would be too much to bear.
