Oops, I'm sorry... If you've got any different pictures you could still post them I guess. Never enough beautiful pictures!

Oh yes, a large part can be seen by the public. Except in September, because this is of old the month in which the family stays in the castle.

I can't help thinking moat = super damp basement. Actually, super damp everything!

Oh, and the place is beautiful, of course.

You're probably right. Still, they keep an eye on it I guess, with all the valuable objects in the castle.

Too bad of all the construction that's been going on the last couple years, it's such a nice backdrop for pictures taken at the EFF :)

Yes, these pictures were taken in 2008 or something. Still, every old place has to be reconstructed every now and then.

Thanks, on Wikipedia (at least the Dutch page) you can see a drawing of the 16th century castle and it was actually very much like the castle today, so I guess they based the design on such old drawings.

Wow, do you have a link to that?

There is a kind of virtual tour here

http://www.jan-van-der-woning.nl/nederlands/haar/quicktime/intro.htm

With 360degree photos of some of the rooms.

You're good! I didn't even know that page existed. I can't watch it on the computer where I am now, but I'll certainly look at it later. It's been a while since I've been at De Haar, so it will be nice to be reminded of it's beauty.

The link to the Wiki page is: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kasteel_de_Haar
