The whole parents thing, yes so much. I am going up next weekend. Plus dealing with my elderly aunt here. And what sucks is that because I am doing two conferences this fall, one of which involves flying/hotel, plus M is going to a con which involves flying/hotel because M never gets to do anything and should get to do something . . .

I may not be able to get back again until Christmas. Which sucks.

We watched the first ep of Sense 8 and found it confusing and keep meaning to try again.

Re: Parents. SIGH. You must go up quite a bit. I have to go to CA again pretty soon and I REALLY need a job, so I'm caught between life here and life there.

TRY SENSE8 AGAIN. You have to pay attention and stick with it the first three eps and then it starts paying off in spades. Spades I tell you!

Maybe four times a year, but never for more than 4-5 days including travel, sometimes shorter. It's not enough.

It's mostly M, who wants to watch it and then complains about being too tired to concentrate so we haven't restarted it. At some point I will watch it on my own, if he does not get his act together.

I'm lucky that my parents are mostly healthy. Even so, the thought of spending three entire weeks with them.... *shudder* Dad has become an Old Man. Sometimes it's adorable, many times it's not.

*hugs* in general. Glad to see you poke your head out. <3

*pokes head out*

Yeah, three weeks is not ideal but no one was in the mood to fight over politics because my dad is so ill and it was all about doctor's visits and trying to get him to eat. :/

I am lucky that while my mom has a fresh breast cancer diagnosis, the situation is not dire. Though she did get bad news on Tuesday regarding the actual size of the tumor removed and how radiation is going to go (and that apparently now chemo *is* a possibility). Not good times, but not dire. *sigh* I don't like it when parents get old.

*hugs* <3

It's always good to see you're alive. I'm sorry about the depression, bad dating, and your dad, though.

I am also in love with Sense8. Why can I not have season 2 right now? I adore the way it's so grounded in characters and connections between them. I agree that the pacing is so different from the usual that it feels almost jarringly slow for the early episodes, but all that groundwork starts to really pay off as you mainline further.

I'm watching Humans, Dark Matter, and (with some eyerolling) Teen Wolf, too. With varying degrees of enthusiasm. I'm still not quite sure I'm keeping Dark Matter.

Thank you, m'dear.

More Sense8 now, would be nice. Can't wait to see what a second season holds and praying we get one.

Dark Matter has its moments but also retreads some tired cliches so yeah. Much eye rolling going on here, too.
