Mostly for Jenna, since she asked about it while she was visiting this weekend:

Poems I'm not completely and utterly embarassed by (which I'm 98% sure she's already seen, but just in case....)

Many of the above, plus poems that are older and pretty much crap.

Those plus still more that are DEFINITELY crap. It's been a long time since I've written ( Read more... )

from the really older set, i <3 lastnite and that nite.

and um these don't have titles from fragments...

7/11/99
clinging to you
across miles
all the while
wishing you were gone.
not knowing
what you want
where you are
who you are
only who you were
when you were mine.
wishing you were gone.
wishing you were here.

and this one

3/30/99
i saw you twice today
once so closely
i saw your eyes twinkle
again from so far
i couldn't even see their color
those two glimpses
made my eyes shine

but i think it should end right there.

<3!

ps - you're so beautiful, it hurts to look at you! ;)

(i've always been obsessed with that line too)

No, I can't just respond all in one neat comment because I'm annoying.
Okay now I see the ones you picked and it's funny- the "lost" one particularly grabbed me and nooo i dunno it's genesis...

You are SO cute, do you know that??

It's actually inspired by a shot in Boys Don't Cry, where (I think) Hilary Swank is walking down the highway, it's this amazing visual, I wish I could remember it exactly (or better, find a screencap) because it's *SO* beautiful and the first line just sprang into my head. And the rest came from there.

(There was a shot in Stop-Loss that looked very similar to how I remember it being, and that brought the poem to mind in an eerie way. Thus, the connection.)

I think that at least 85% of the poems you pointed out were ones I like too, although I'm not fond of the poems with the quotes in them. And "never" is one of the few poems I've written that isn't about melodramatic love or relationships in one way or another, so I love that you liked that one too. :)

Oh right...well I would take the quotes out of them! I liked the other lines, especially the end lines in the poem you wrote with "pulse" quotes....that has always been the Ani song that like rips my heart out the most which is saying something because so many of them do have that effect! hence the "Keep holding" on my lost and delirious icon.

There are some interesting bits in most of those old poems, yes. Every once in a while I think to myself, "maybe I should revisit those old things and clean them up and work on them?" And then I remember how much I HATE revising, and I end up, you know, not. (LOL!)

I didn't know that's where the "keep holding" came from!!! *loves on you like whoa*

You're so sweet to have read them all again, though. I meant to say that before and kind of forgot. <3 <3 <3
