the eighth day [unintentional VIDEO]

Jan 19, 2011 22:19

[ The image is blurred a bit - whoever has their device on probably is unaware of its power function but regardless, the video continues. It's darkness at some points, then shades of white, and then that particular wall that the inside of the apartments are composed of. A door opens and the camera readjusts itself long enough to catch the backside ( Read more... )

[At the reply of the other he noticed that the device was left on without knowledge and perhaps it was the dais fault for his ire at the item, having wished to find a way to remove it from its current state but no, this was not the case and from what he could tell, it had been taking footage of them since the beginning of their conversation. Tension, annoyance and the dai quickly moved, not wishing the entire database of those around to be in privy to what was happening and with a flick of his wrist, a shifting of fingers it was off and the world on the other-side to viewers went dark. Tossing it across the room in obvious regard to how displeased he was with the situation, he bowed his head and returned his attention to the stubborn assassin.]

Give me your hand, Altaïr. Do not force me to drag you to your feet and embarrass you further. [Certainly he had heard what the other said before but refused to acknowledge it for the moment till his lips parted again and his brow narrowed.]All of your learnings have left you spontaneously? [ He hardly even protested against the other's movements when the dai moved away; it seemed as if he couldn't even grasp the situation at hand. Maybe it was a cruel dream, part of this nightmare and just another deed of the doctors that he was not grateful for at all. The assassin's mind was a storm, crowded and empty, missing something he knew wasn't there but couldn't identify. And the fact that Malik's presence was hardly comforting? He decided against telling the other more. The sound of another item crashing to the floor registered and his head snapped up, those irises wide as if the other had done no better than decide to speak French at him instead of offering the help he was doing now. A nod and he lifted the limb in the other's direction palm up, sliding the glove off with some effort.]

If I knew, the chances of me being here and not regaining them at this moment would be unlikely. [That gaze dropped and he focused on the folds in his robes, attempting to recall what he knew not of.] There's simply... nothing there to

[There was nothing he could do in regards--the situation frustrated him and the fact that the other was not accepting his help was causing more strife within the other as stood in the spot he had come to rest in, watching the other with open and obvious distaste amongst his features for not only the cursed device but for the assassin seated before him upon the floor. Not so much malice though laced with concern, he held open ire towards the other for offering him such glances and refusing him any say in the matter on how to assist him. A grumble, a low sound and with a murmur of annoyance in his native tongue he moved to the kitchen area of the flat, taking a clean rag and wetting it under the sink as he spoke.]

Your attitude is unappreciated. [The dai sharply replied as he walked back over to the man and once more dropped to his knees aside him, cloth placed within a bowl of warm water held securely within his grip.] But tell me, what is the last memory you do remember?

[ Hadn't even made it to a chair - being on the floor, he continued to the other without so much as a decline in the lost expression that was held. Finally his lungs caught the breath that had been lacking in the moments he had been within the building. Lifting the sash around his waist, he applied pressure to the wound for a moment, but paused. Moving to take off both gloves in case he simply overlooked other wounds, the assassin stared down and exhaled, shaking his head in return. Let him help? Something said no, because that was pride talking but at that same time he wasn't sure what there was to be prideful of for he'd already told the dai the worse, and that could be summed up as something that was commonplace as an insult between the two of them. A novice with this recall lapse; perhaps even worse.]

Excuse my actions - you do not deserve such treatment. [ A breath in and the younger one raised his head only because the other was now within his reach. Lifting the pressure he'd applied to the wound, he held it in the other's ( ... )

[She's watching this. Thoughtful enough to let the exchange go. She's actually concerned about Altair. Her friend, her buddy. Her significant other's grandpop. She realizes that these two don't know that they're broadcasting this publicly.]

Hey! Hey, you two! Just wanted to let you know that the rest of us can see this.

[Her next words are that of concern, though. The blood that was smeared across the screen was not unnoticed.]

Are... you okay?

[Whoa what was that last part And to that shouting, he's forcing himself back up --after an exchange of words with Malik-- to the device at the words. It's a matter of shuffling and then it looks as if he's back in the hallway for a moment.]

I apologize that the exchange interrupted whatever you were involved with. [ He pauses.] Something else is amiss, that is all.

[The 'significant' part or the 'other' part?]

No. It's fine. I wasn't doing anything important. Kind of hard to ignore... was that blood?

[... Nevermind 8|]

It is merely a scratch, but yes.

Altair...?

Oh no... what happened? Ur hu, oui'na rind, tu oui haat ramb? Fru tet drec? Fyc ed dra tuldunc, syopa dryd'c fro oui lyh'd nasaspan... [ The last part is spoken in insane speed, as shuffling is coming from her handheld. ] I will hurt them if they hurt my friends!

[ooc; The al-bhed is, "Oh no, you're hurt, do you need help? Who did this? Was it the doctors, maybe that's why you can't remember..."]

Rikku. [ He's reaching back for the item with his good hand, and there's a shake of the head as he switches the video function off. He doesn't even want to admit his mistake to anyone else, so there's reluctance.] It is fine, I just miscalculated a jump.

[ She doesn't have a problem with the video disappearing, she is just really worried. ]

But... it seems worse than that. Are you sure you're okay? I can bring you some stuff to help you.

We have medicine here, but your concern is appreciated. [ Guilty feelings? Not exactly but he doesn't enjoy being a complete jerk considering no one's done much to deserve that treatment here.]

Though, Rikku. Have you any complications with your memory?

[Susan is watching the actions as well. She is moving the device around as if she could see around the smears on the screen.]

Mr. Altair? Mr. Malik? What has happened?

[Pausing, the voice sounds and the dai stops his motions as in the background the assassin continues to prove difficult in allowing any assistance in the matter of helping him up. Abandoning him for a moment, he reaches forward and takes hold of the device, smearing his thumb across the screen to rid of the color there, seemingly uncaring for the blood yet not reaction to much asides the severity upon his face.]

Ah, Miss Sto-Helit. [He noted when he saw who was on the other side, this all being a rarity as he normally was not prone to showing his face amongst the device and for that he does not seem pleased.] My counterpart is being a fool and obviously losing his tact for action. He will be fine if he does not suffer from his own stubborn will.

[She noted the displeased look on his face. Though there was video, his tone of voice alone made his mood apparent.]

Are you sure everything is alright? That was not paint you cleaned away.

[Apparent indeed, and there was no question to it. Still, he spoke as the other replied, murmuring something within his native tongue to the man in the background.]

Obviously so, it was blood.

[ He is quiet for a moment as if he is unsure of what to say. Upon speaking, the hesitation in his voice is apparent. ]

What has been done to you?

[Hearing the accented voice of the other upon the device, the dai pauses from applying pressure on one of the wounds upon the assassins body and leaves the cloth there to reach out and take hold of the device, looking into it and noting not a voice, but it is not hard to figure who rests upon the other side. He is not prone to being shown upon these things but for now--there is not much he can do about it.]

He has fallen. Nothing so extreme to cause immediate concern asides wondering how hard he might have hit his head on the way down.

[ He wasn't expecting Malik to answer, but, either way, it made no difference to the Italian. Before speaking, he glanced at the figure in the background, his wounded ancestor. ]

His care is in your hands, si?

[Unfortunately for the other--it was him who did answer and with his normal severity he continued to reply, shifting his attention to the man behind him for a moment, speaking out harsh words in their native tongue before allowing his reply to continue.]

Yes, if he gets over his stubborn nature.
