[So Darcy may have taken more time than usual to get ready for tonight. Tony had promised drinks and bar hopping, and Darcy imagined that some dancing may be involved. So she dressed for the occasion. Also, layers are your friend in the winter. If you get warm, you can always take them off. Darcy was a smart date-dresser. Always thinking ahead.

[Tony, in an act of complete astonishment, is only a few minutes late. Tony-mun is too lazy to pick what he's wearing, so Darcy-mun can pick whatever she wants in case she wants to put him in something really fabulous. Darcy's already waiting by the time he arrives, and he takes a moment to appreciate her legs in those jeans before he greets her with a grin.]

Hope you're not planning on listening to that the whole time.

If you keep handing out dates all willy nilly, it'll make me think you're real lonely, Mr. Stark. [Darcy teases gently.

But it doesn't seem like he hears her. She lifts a hand, snapping her fingers in front of his face.]

[Good thing he didn't hear that, kiddo.

He blinks at her hand, as if confused how they it there.] What?

[Yeeeeeep. Darcy chuckles at his confused blink.] You here now? You with me? [Darcy smirks.] Looked like you were in La La land for a minute, there.

I got...distracted. Right, no thinking about work while on our date, got it. Good thing we're almost there. [He points up ahead at the array of neon signs lining the street, advertising everything from alcohol to fried Oreos. Tony makes a mental note to check if the fried Oreo place is still open later.]

So that's why you're single. Married to your work. [Darcy nods, giving him a knowing look. She glances to the street ahead of them, eyebrows going up.]

Fried Oreos? Please tell me we're going there at some point this evening.

[ironfail]

I prefer to think of it as being in an open relationship with my work, though it does get special privileges.

[He glances over at her in surprise for all of two seconds before grinning.] How could I pass up the opportunity to buy a pretty lady delicious yet unhealthy snack items? The only question is whether they'll taste better before or after getting drunk.

Oh, yeah? There aren't any creepy threesomes with you, another person, and a set of blueprints, are there?

[Darcy grins at his surprised look.] Fried foods always taste better when you're drunk. Didn't you go to college? That's Drinking 101.

[Laughing.] Only when the other person wants there to be.

I've always been of the school of thought that fried foods taste best all the time.

Ewwww-hewww. [Darcy crinkles up her nose as she laughs.]

Fried food does taste wonderful. But when you're drunk and you need something in your belly, fried foods are, like, mana from fried heaven.

[Still grinning.] Feel free to substitute the blueprints with whatever other tools you'd like.

Fine then, drinks first, delicious fried foods second. How's that?

I'll keep that in mind. [She smirks, giving him a quick little once-over. Oh, the flirting~]

Sounds like a plan, Iron Man. [Darcy snorts at her own joke. She's just so damn funny.]

[They're on a date, the flirting is mandatory.]

Right, let's hope those puns get better, not worse, when you're drunk.

Oh, I'm a fun drunk. [Darcy nods and grins, giving him a wink.]

I'll hold ya to that. Come on, this place looks promising. [And he's steering her into the nearest bar.]

[Darcy lets him steer her. Take charge kind of fella like that could steer her anyday. As they enter the bar, Darcy chuckles.] This is gonna be a fun night. Not that it isn't, already. But it's just gonna get better.
