CARNIVAL!

Jan 17, 2012 20:03

[ Part of the doctor's "reward" for the city hitting it's two year aniversary, a carnival is now occupying the city's park. It is indeed futuristic, as the city in general is, and best of all-- admission is free. The carnival has tons of other enjoyable things to spend your time with!

The Ferris Wheel → It's just like a normal Ferris Wheel, with ( Read more... )

[Arlen is outside the laser tag tent and he's shouting at everyone around him]

Playing a game of laser tag! Any takers? I wanna have huge teams.

[Wondering what all the commotion was about, Joe decided to venture to the park to see what was up. There were lights everywhere, and rides, and games... nothing that really peaked his interest. The food seemed interesting enough, though.

As he was getting ready to leave, he passed by the large tent next to the carousel and heard someone shouting. Listening closely a second time, he heard the words 'laser tag.']

What's laser tag?

What!?

[Arlen whirls around and throws his hands in the air]

You don't know what laser tag is! Holy shit, you're missing out on life! Laser tag is... you take these fake guns and shoot each other with them, and rake up points.

[ Rikku is walking through the carnival, eating from a huge stick of cotton candy. She seems to be alone, just walking by herself, but there is a soft smile on her face. She's thinking to herself, her gaze distant as she slides between the crowds.

Come bug her! ]

[Ahim? Still a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Which is why she'll walk face-first right into Rikku's cotton candy.]

Mmph-!

[ It takes a few seconds for her to realize her sugary goodness was now all over someone else's face. She pulls the stick away, wincing at the other girls' face. ]

Oh no! Are you okay!

[Blinks and smiles, pulling an errant ttuft of cotton candy from her hair.]

I'm fine; I could have walked into something far less sweet. I apologize for not watching where I was going.

[Face is... sticky, but otherwise okay!]

[Ahim is out and about, looking like a kid in the candy store, hands clasped together. It's like she doesn't know where to go first.]

So exciting...!

[Sofia is there too, trying to take in everything. She's never seen anything quite like it before, so she stands at the entrance just marveling at all the lights and laughter around her.]

Si. It is quite the sight, is it not? I have never seen anything like this before in my life!

Neither have I! Every time something like this happened back home, I was never allowed to go out and enjoy it. But now I can!

[Armand can be found seated on a bench, a sketchbook in his lap. He's just watching the people pass by, tapping the eraser end of his pencil against the page and occasionally jotting down a quick gesture drawing of someone particularly eye-catching.

But in the main, he's here to people-watch. The sketchbook just gives him a reasonable excuse for the blatant staring.]

[Here's someone interesting. It's not immediately clear that Amelia is walking around the carnival, simply because she is covered head to toe, including her face, which obscures her identty. Gloves, long pants and socks, a gray turtleneck sweater, a drab beanie and a thin face mask help conceal all of her skin. She's also holding an umbrella.

Though it's hard to immediately tell who she is, her hair is visible, and someone familiar with her tiny stature could make a guess.]

[And guess he does - though the Mind Gift does give him a rather unfair advantage in that. Still, he can at least act like he isn't sure. As she passes by him, he calls out, halting and tentative]

-- Amelia?

[She stops walking to look for the source of whoever called her name. Amelia isn't sure if she wants to talk to people right now, since what little free time she has today is intended for enjoying the carnival. Still, the social aspect is part of the fun, since the rides themselves usually overwhelmed her, right?

Finally, she spots him on the bench.] Oh. Andrei. [She clasps one gloved hand over the other as it grips the umbella, then slowly takes her steps towards him.] Hi. It's nice to see you again.

[Amelia pretends as if nothing is unusual, but her dress bothers her, despite how necessary it is. It's either this or turn off all the lights-turned-blacklights in her apartment and work offices, then never go out for any reason beyond traveling between them.]

[The instant she saw the carnival, Di knew she had to go. There were rarely many pleasant events in Aliunde, so she might as well take advantage of this one while it lasted. She kept an eye on the monsters as she made her way into the park, but they were surprisingly well-behaved.

Once inside, she bought herself a bag of popcorn and headed over to inspect the games - once she was finished eating she'd check out the rides...]
