Well, considering he was used to going to school six days a week... (five days. Who does that?) it hadn't been as hard on him to actually head for the school on a Saturday morning. He had no idea why their sensei had decided to suddenly have a meeting with only the senior class, but he'd admit he was curious. That was why he was there, respectfully waiting for the explanation to conclude ( ... )

That was if they didn't return to the time they were pulled from, too. He had no idea about how this place worked just yet, not completely - and he had to admit it left him curious because it didn't seem to matter how long he personally stayed in a certain world back in his own. It was always around the same time that they pulled out, regardless. "This is close to the top of the list for me, too," he admitted, momentarily glancing around to the others gathered here. "At least in this kind of kidnapping, there isn't the immediate risk of death."

Yu would be one of the first to admit his world was pretty messed up...

The space-time continuum is a completely mystery to Rogue, she doesn't even want to try and think about how that works. Yu's guess was as good as hers. "Not dying is a definite bonus, "she agreed, nodding. "I'm just hoping it stays that way. I've heard...not so good things about this city, what happened before I got here." Zombie and monsters and hostile takeovers and all sorts of horrible stuff.

Just let him call up the Universe Arcana and he'll ask- no wait, that one was... yeah...

"I know what you mean," he admitted with a sigh as he stared at his hand. ....When did a card get in there? "I arrived during one of those takeovers. It wasn't as fun without any means of protection.

"How long have you been in Aliunde?" She glanced down at the card in his hand. Had that been there the whole time...? "I only arrived a couple weeks ago myself."

"Almost three months, actually." Whether it had been or not wasn't for him to say, because to him... it always was. Whether it was physically or not.

Rogue frowned, crossing her arms over her chest. "Seems a lot of people have been here for a long time." It wasn't giving her a lot of hope of getting home anytime soon.

Despite how little the two knew of each other, Charles did know that Yu was a very quiet student. He put his hands on the wheels of his wheelchair and moved over to the Japanese student. He could faintly hear the voice inside Yu's mind if he wasn't paying too close attention, but he did not delve deep enough to see what the voice was saying. While it fascinated him to no end, Charles thought it best if Yu explained it to him one day on his own terms. It would be best to grow that bond there.

"I believe you would be the only one not complaining about a meeting on Saturday." There's a hint of humor in his voice with his smile.

If there was one thing Yu was known for, it was usually being patient and quiet when others had something to say. At least, so long as someone didn't need a more aggressive push like his uncle did. He raised an eyebrow at the humor for a moment before he chuckled as well. Right... There was that culture gap he was trying to overcome even as they spoke.

"It's definitely been strange, not having classes six days a week." Even he seemed amused by it, since the best advice anyone could give to anyone was to try and adapt quickly to any sort of culture they appeared in. Hopefully he wasn't doing too poorly...

There was basically no aggressive bone in Charles' body. That didn't mean he was a push over, of course, but he only moved in aggression when it was needed. Which, ultimately left him in the wheelchair that he was now sitting in. He was not fully familiar with the Japanese culture, but he knew enough to understand Yu's traditional habits.

"It's a Western idea. If you'd like a class on the weekend, I can certainly arrange it."

His aggression ended with an old burn, and a lesson in what it meant to remain calm even in the face of losing everything. Sometimes it still hurt to summon them, but he never let that stop him from protecting others. He wouldn't let it here, either.

"I wouldn't want to hinder anyone's training." 'I know how important it is to some.'

Pushing through the pain was said to make people's characters stronger. The power to push through adversity. Charles was still discovering if that was true for himself.

"Maybe we could arrange more homework for you then." The entire notion was one of humor, but, if Yu truly did want more schooling out of habit? He would be more than happy to arrange something. 'Very important. Two of the people around you are from my world... though Rogue is from my future.'

That it was, and it was also true. The fact that he still stood after all the adversity his team went through - and Charles could probably see a clear image of all of them in a club somewhere in the back of Yu's mind, laughing or linefacing at the shenanigans depending on who it was. He missed them, but helping out a new team... He wouldn't replace them or the memories of finding within himself and the bonds he made with them what he'd once lost.

"That I probably wouldn't mind... it will be another reason to practice my English." He noted the humor, and behind his poker face he was definitely amused, too... though suddenly hearing two people inside his head made him blink a moment before- nope, completely normal for him. The only thing that was weird was not seeing his lips move. 'I kind of figured. ...The one with blue skin is Raven, right? They both seem to know you well, despite the awkward.'At least he wasn't judging her, just stating a fact. In fact, he silently thinks it's a good look for her ( ... )

Memories of friends should never be replaced. There were people near and dear to their hearts, incapable of being replaced, but that did not mean one had to stop making new friends. Charles still distanced himself from others, but, he did still kept some kind of friends. Pepper and Tony were the closest ones to him in Aliunde, save for Raven. Even if there were complications there.

"English homework might be the best then." He commented, gauging Yu's reaction. He didn't react negatively to the telepathic thought. There were just some conversations that were best to not say around the others at the moment. 'Raven is my adopted sister.' There was something between Rogue and Raven, but, Charles had not perused finding out what it was just yet.

Exactly what he was thinking already. Though at one time he would cease to even try, but that was when he got a little incentive to do better than simply let his own loneliness consume him. He had no one close to him yet, but that didn't mean he wouldn't try to forge those bonds.

"Right." He rubbed the back of his neck, a little grateful for it. 'I remember you saying that; just never seeing her like she is now,' he admitted in his mind. He was being honest with himself at this point, and it was a little strange to him. But when had anything here been anything different?

Certainly wasn't stranger than a hollow bear suddenly having a human body.

From what Charles could tell? Yu hardly had to try to forge the bonds. He seemed to be a natural magnet for those who needed a friend. Someone to listen to them. If he was younger, then perhaps Charles would feel more at ease speaking with him about what troubled him. He did not feel as if he could lay his burdens on a student.

Charles couldn't help but give a slight chuckle. 'Her shapeshifting takes most by surprise. However, I think people accepting it is what is more surprising to her.' There was an assumption on Raven's part that no one would accept her for who she truly was. And he had no idea how to change that way of thinking. Or if he even could.
