Tony, [her scolding is all playful and very unreal] I'd be careful just what you say. I wouldn't want Pepper to come under the impression you were hoping to move in with me. No doubt we wouldn't hear the end of it for weeks!

And, unfortunately for you, a pretty little lady is just about as far away a description as possible in this case. Though I'll let you pretend if that sort of imagery keeps you happy at night.

Naw, Pep knows moving in together is much more commitment than I can handle. We're safe for now. [He chuckles, raising an eyebrow suggestively.] Oh, it keeps me very, very happy. But now I'm obligated to ask who it is, if not a charming young woman to fuel my lesbian fantasies. I need to make sure they're good enough for you, of course.

You're too sweet to me. [Though that lovely smile of hers doesn't falter in the slightest, Naomi pauses, considering what to say. She hadn't exactly wanted to reveal Javert's existence to Tony like this, but she's already told Pepper, so the story likely won't stay secret for long.

Tony doesn't even react to that, just replies casually as well,] Husband? What poor sap have you permanently ensnared in your web?

[That certainly draws a very real laugh from Naomi, her expression brightening immediately.] Oh, you know me so well already! [She loves it.]

No one you know. Yet. [At least she assumes.] But I'll be sure to pass along the message of your condolences towards him. Considering how much he just loathes me, I'm sure it will brighten his day.

[Oh how wrong you are, sweetie. Tony had a fun little run-in Javert not too long ago. He'll be thrilled to learn he's married to Naomi.] If he needs any tips for weaseling his way out of a marriage, tell him I'm his man.

Not marriages specifically, but I imagine the principles behind ending a relationship apply just as easily.

Ooh, I don't know if that's such a good idea. I don't mix well with married couples. [Especially if this mysterious husband will be as fond of him as Pepper is of Naomi.]

That has the potential to be absolutely amazing or absolutely terrifying. Possibly both. [Translation: oh man yes they should double date. It'd be a riot.] But I don't know if I should subject Pepper to that much, uh, fun. I might end up on the couch. Permanently. Disregarding the fact I sleep there half the time anyway.
