[ Kaylee spent the better part of the day wandering around shops looking for just the perfect thing to take on her planned hospital visit later. Now that she knew the good Professor was awake and all. Eventually she ended up at his room. ]

Heya Professor. [ Though from his point of view it probably looked like a large arrangement of cheerful flowers in a nice vase was talking. ]

[ The door opens and he looks over at her. A smile forms on his face in a second and he nods to her. Ah, so she did find flowers. ]

Kaylee. It's good to see you.

[ OF COURSE SHE DID. She peeks around the arrangement. ]

's good to see ya too. I got ya flowers. Like I said. [ As if that wasn't obvious without raising them up a bit and making them to a teeny wiggle. ]

[ Charles nods to her in thanks. It's good to have a somewhat positive hospital visit, at least. Though he's not sure he can ever experience one that would make good light of his last one. ]

Well they might hover a bit more to sniff 'em first. [ She manages to shift the arrangement to one arm, balancing it on her hip, as she clears a spot. ]

How come they're hoverin' so much? You're all patched up an' healin' now, yea?

[ He chuckles. ]

They have things they need to do regarding the machines, I'd imagine. Not to mention I am paralyzed, maybe they are worried about something else.

[ She glances up at said machines as she sets the vase down in the nice and cleared off spot, her hands now working to fluff the arrangement back up again. It's a bit lopsided now. ]

Worried 'bout what? That all ya needed to fix your legs was to get smacked 'round by some weird stone angel? [ She briefly pauses from her fussing to prod ever so gently at one of his big toes. ] It's good an' all they're fussin' to make sure you're good as can be considerin' but ... [ she makes a face. It's still fussing. From doctors and nurses. In this infamous hospital. ]

[ Lopsided or not, it's the thought that counts. ]

That there could be damage from the attacks to further worsen my condition. I'm not a doctor, and I certainly can't tell you what they're thinking without my telepathy.

[ Fluffing and fussing is making it less lopsided but the bright cheeriness of the massive thing will probably make thinking 'oh it's lopsided' come second, if at all.

Something he says though gets her to peek around the flowers again. ]

It's not as if they can truly take it away from me. It's part of my very genetics. Unless they scrubbed them clean, which I highly doubt, I'll always have it. Accessing it is something else entirely.

[ He smiles. ] But yes, I am. And the flowers are perfectly fine, Kaylee.

Genetics? [ Whoa. Whoa. HEEEEEEY!!! ] 's not just genetics in folks like me you're studyin' is it? I sure don't got any readers in my family. But yours has, well, you.

[ Her hands drop away from the flowers with a sheepish smile as she goes to sit in the chair by him instead. By him and out of reach of the flowers. ]
