[The angels are no longer just observing and shifting around the city. Oh no, now they're on the attack. There are some congregating in large groups and others who are merely working alone. Some have their faces covered and others don't. If you've got a keen eye the angels aren't looking at each other - they can't, it's their greatest weakness ( Read more... )

[Of course, Nana had seen the warnings over the network, so she knew to be careful. She'd been here too long to just ignore warnings. Even so, here she was, at 2am, walking home from work alone. Nana had been able to avoid the angels, so far, so she didn't feel the need to have someone accompany her.

But then it came, the feeling like she was being watched. Instinctively, she picked up her pace, not even looking back. Though as she approached her destination, she could help but look behind her... and there it was-- one of those damn stone angels. It was subtly posed, not looking as thought it were going to attack, but now Nana was afraid to turn around. The thought of making a public post to the network for help crossed her mind, but she was so close to her apartment; she was sure she could make it.

So instead, she turns and starts running toward the double doors of her loft building.]

[Sometimes running just isn't enough. Especially not when the victim turns their eyes away from the angel. Before Nana can reach the doors the angel has a hold on her. An impossibly tight grip that can't be wiggled out of.

Those pleasant faces the angels have been sporting is gone and instead it's something horrible. Fangs and claws have given something so innocent-looking a demonic aura. People were right to fear the angels.

Better say your prayers, Nana, because this thing isn't letting go.]

Oh fu--

[Before she can even get the word out, she feels the cold grip of stone on her shoulder and her head turns to look at it. What she sees in horrifying, and she can't even scream.

Is this how she was going to die? Possibly. Probably.

Its grip on her is solid, and she can't move away. Staring at it was her only option, but she knew she couldn't do that forever. The one hand in her pocket gripped at her communicator, wondering if she could possibly call someone-- anyone at this point.

But she couldn't look away.]

[The angel doesn't move, it doesn't say a word as Nana debates her options. All it does is stare back with that hideous, monstrous face and keep its grip. It's waiting for Nana to slip up.]

[The silence is deafening. She wants to scream, but she can't... and if she did, what were the chances that someone would hear her?

She swallows, hard. So this would be her end. It was so simple, she thinks, death in a blink of an eye. Not even a chance to enjoy one, last cigarette.

The grip on her communicator loosens and she grabs at the angel's wrist.

And blinks. Just once.]

[That's all it takes. A single, split-second blink and it's over.

A loud crack fills the silence as the angel snaps Nana's neck.

Quick, painless death.

With Nana dead the angel has no one watching it anymore so it releases the body, uncaring to the fact that she falls to the ground lifelessly. It's face changes back to the innocent look the others support and moves away. But it doesn't leave. With no one watching the angel takes the communicator Nana had attempted to get before moving away from the body.]
