[ Kaylee sits bundled up in a coat and scarf on a bench near the apartment building she now calls (a temporary) home. At her feet is a basket of what looks like nothing but a tangled mass of useless parts salvaged from the junkyard. At least that is how it would look to others. To Kaylee it is a basket of potential. Potential for what she isn't entirely sure of yet. But it has potential. Not to mention it gives her something to do as there is no ship for her to work on. No crew to help or make things for.

She could have done the same thing inside, nice and warm, but the snow is still a novelty to her and from her view on the bench she can see people walking by. She tugs on a wire, pulling it loose as she glances out at the ones shuffling by and wondering what stories they all have. ]

[To say Ezio is curious is an understatement and, after throwing himself off a high point in the city and landing with grace, Ezio approaches carefully, sitting beside her on the bench. He glances down into the box then smirks slightly. She's just what he needs. Someone like Leonardo, like Yusuf and Piri Reis, who can make his designs.]

That is a large box of scrapped things, amico. Are you planning to make something in particular?

Ai ya! [ And this would be Kaylee, far less gracefully dropping the scrap part on her lap with a yelp of surprise as she hadn't heard the man - older man - come up to her and sit. It takes her a moment to get her heart out of her throat and the part off her lap before it tumbles off. ] How'd you do that? Come up all sneaky like.

An' what's "amico"?

It is part of my trade. Mi dispiace, I did not mean to startle you. [He smiles lightly, charmingly, and shakes his head a little.]

Amico means friend, just a nice thing to call someone.

[Vanyel's just walking home from work, minding his own business. Walking fast - and not just because he wants to be out of the cold. Someone looking closely might notice the tense set of his shoulders, the wary way he eyes the angel statues as he passes them...

They'd made him uneasy from the start. Having it confirmed that they're actually dangerous just puts him on higher alert.]

[Ezio is more than curious about this man and approaches quickly but carefully, falling into step with him.]

You look unsettled, signore. Those statues are ominous, si?

[And the moment he heard footsteps falling in with his, he turned to look. The man is odd, certainly, but... the way he dresses and the formality of his speech remind Vanyel of his own world, and there's something comforting in that familiarity.

It's not cause to trust him, but it's cause enough to be civil.]

They are. I didn't trust them even before they were confirmed to be dangerous, but now... [Another comes into view, and it's all he can do not to scowl at the thing.]

Si, it is best to avoid them.

[And he does so. Enemies he fights are of the squishy human variety, or at the very least things that bleed.] But you look like a man of power. You should surely benefit from... allies.

[Luckily for Ezio, Natasha's a trained assassin as well. She's been out patrolling the city herself, keeping an eye on things that might go bump in the night. Someone had to! Just because Aliunde wasn't earth didn't mean that they could fail in protecting it. As long as the Avengers were here, they would protect this place with their dying breath.

Tonight had Natasha perched on the ledge of a lower rooftop. The Black Widow was a silent stalker, barely making a sound against the quiet night. Gloved hands grasped the edge of the roof. Kicking her feet out behind her, they arched up over her head, launching her body up and over the ledge. There was a moment of freefall, her body positioned gracefully in the air, years of ballet and gymnastics training paying off. She lands in a crouch, fiery red locks falling back to her shoulders.]

[Ezio had been watching her for some time. Silent stalkers were just what he was interested in. Of course, he wanted to test her mettle right off the bat. She seemed more than ready to handle it.

Taking a running leap off the roof, he lands a short distance away, hood up in place, and he flicks his hidden blades in a warning that he's going to attack. With that, he runs at her, right blade raised.]

[She was so used to dealing with super-powered men and gods that Natasha almost smirked at the blade. Blades were something she could handle. They were an extension of a person, and that person was normally human. The moment the blade pops out, Natasha simply tilts her head to the side, stretching and popping her neck. Guns would be too impersonal in this kind of fight, so she leaves them holstered against her hips.

Eyes narrowing slightly, she takes a defensive stance at first. Come get her, Ezio.]

[Ezio makes a swing for her, though he has no plans to stab her at all and, if it looks like he might, he'll back off. But for now he's aiming to attack.]

[Ezio has decided to simply ask. Sometimes, people are more willing than he gives them credit for, so he approaches, bowing his head politely.]

Mi scusi, but might I have a word with you, amico mio?
