There's a very good reason why Andy and Siew Ting's wedding banquet was held at Hilton Hotel - simply because they had met each other at the "Starbucks not far away". What a sentimental couple!
There was no photo montage or video highlights, but the wedding did not skip a beat because of those. Perhaps that was why Andy had told me "全靠你们了" (It's all up to you).
Naturally as a live band, our priority is to entertain the guests and to make them feel occupied in between bites and chatters. But that evening, I was enjoying myself too because Andy and Siew Ting had picked a few of my all-time favourites like Hooked On A Feeling, I Could Love You Like That and Two Less Lonely People In The World.
This wedding also marked our first time performing with Jerome even though we have known him as a singer from 爱情海民歌餐厅 (Music Dreamers) eons ago. We sure hope to work with him again soon!
An interesting thing I noticed was how 'gentleman' Andy's 'brothers' (groomsmen) were in comparison to the 'general template' I have come across. The 'Yum-seng' wasn't shouted in the usual aggressive break-neck manner but more in a sing-song fashion, with the flair of gentlemen. I think this is certainly 'Like groom, like brothers'.
This caricature greeted every guest that evening, and it was drawn by the Andy and Siew Ting's god-daughter, who managed to capture the couple's features uncannily!
