Hsin Yeow's thoughts: I'll Make Love To You
Teck Chin and Iris engaged our band to perform on two occasions, the first was a traditional wedding dinner for family members and relatives at The Dragon Restaurant on 10 Dec, the second, was a celebration mainly for friends at Goodwood Park Hotel on 12 Dec.
For the 10 Dec dinner, I got Jun Xiong, Ji Xiang and Jonathan Lim (The Three J's) to entertain the guests. The repertoire consisted of mainly Mandarin and Cantonese pop, which were to the guests' liking.
For the celebration at Goodwood Park, Judy, James, Lim Hui and I presented a wider range of songs, from jazz to pop to evergreens. It was a deliberate decision to select different musicians on the two nights, so that guests who attended both dinners would enjoy some variety.
Both Jun Xiong and I loved the video that Flo (from Meoworks) made. Here's a look at the very entertaining proceedings on Wednesday morning. Agree with Flo that "Teck Chin & Iris (and their friends) are collectively mad."

Knowing how much Iris loved to dance, I engineered a small surprise for the couple. Without their prior notice or agreement, I invited them to have a first dance, set to a "very special song that Iris wanted me to learn just for the wedding". The song was the humongous hit by Grammy Award-winning American R&B/soul singing group Boyz II Men --- I'll Make Love To You!

"I met Iris on my first day at Polytechnic. I remembered feeling very nervous as I was late for a lecture. When I got into the lecture hall, I rushed to the nearest empty seat. After I got settled, a beautiful lady offered to shared her notes with me as I had nothing with me except a pen. I was grateful to her and we just exchanged our names. That lady was Iris.
One day, my good friend Darren played a prank on me. While I was preoccupied, he passed a note to Iris that said that I wanted to know her more. My telephone number was in that note, together with a message for her to call me. The amazing thing was, SHE CALLED...!! I was so surprised that I didn't know what to say to her. But, we hit it off soon after and the rest was history!"
Congratulations Teck Chin and Iris! It was a joy to perform for you and your guests! Here's to many more years of love and happiness!
