Speaking as a former bunny owner, they require a lot of upkeep and are not as cute and loveable as you think. I have owned biting bunnies, shy bunnies and escapee burrowing bunnies, none of them have been especially wonderful pets and they all poo for England. This could be because my mother used to do RSPCA stuff so my childhood was full of Crap Pets Other People Hated, but it might just be rabbits in general.
Bunnies are better in soft toy form, I think. Or in pies.
Honestly, rabbits are not particularly what people think -- which is snuggly and lovey. They bite, they dig, they claw, they have bad attitudes. Neutering and spaying helps that a lot, though.
No, I know that bunnies are mean - a mate told me that dwarf lop ears are the worst and will rip out your throat - but I still want to get a house bunny one day.
