grey's anatomy fanfiction, addison - what you did

What You Did
Author's Notes: My relationship is making my fic bitter lately. This isn't particularly anything to brag about, just some pent up feelings poorly expressed as a story. Addison/Derek but in a twisted, hate-more-than-love kind of way and second-person Addison of course. kateinslacks, hope you enjoy it.

If you were really thinking you would have found a way to keep him from the OR because surgery was his mistress. Such a perfect description for him, really.

I liked the parenthetical comments about Mark and measurements (giggle) and Pete and nakedness.

I also liked the fairytale way that you used to describe the start of their [Addison and Derek's] relationship. And the paragraph about all the things she wanted? Tear.

Great job as always. ♥

Okay. So. This wins. All over the place. (The choppy sentences represent my awe.)

First, your second person Addie is not only amazing but brilliant and inspiring.

Second, the parenthesis (esp. (you should be smoking here, it’d add something to the bitterness of the scene but Pete’s only got herbal cigarettes and you’d rather peel off your own corneas) and (A blunt hacksaw.) and OMG (You curl your hands into fists and dig your nails into your palms. If you were a drink you’d be a beer with a couple of drops of bitters added for good measure.)) rocked.

Third, the last line. *dies of the poetic truth*

Fourth...*hugs*

I love this! It was so beautifully written, as usual. I've missed your fics, so I was surprised to see that you wrote one. But also happy to read it, of course! ♥

This is just wonderful. I love the way you wrote this, second person, parentheses, and short blunt sentences. Nicely done.

Holy mother, I love your style! It's got such a nice edge to it that I can't even pick out the specifics of why it rocked so hard but it most assuredly did. I really enjoyed where you pointed out that she was a cynic and a romantic which seem so impossible to pair together but it made perfect sense given her character. Favorite line because I love pessimistic cynicism as much as the next gal, "...you were struggling to pretend to have decided what course you wanted your life and repressing the thought that it didn’t really matter since you were never, ever going to be satisfied."

Thank you for this!
