Random encounters

I had a very bizarre random encounter yesterday evening. There I was, walking down the hill minding my own business, admiring the glorious full moon with her halo of white and orange, and a complete stranger (a middle aged man who didn't appear to be drunk) felt the need to stop me and point out that he was disgusted at having to walk past me and ( Read more... )

I wouldn't have liked it to have been me that he said that to, mind.

Good grief! Had his wife just left him or something? Even so there is no need to say something like to a complete stranger and esp a lone female minding her own business. I wonder if he was the "full shilling" so to speak...

I dunno - he just seemed very hostile and angry. I looked at him in complete bewilderment and then kept walking, I suspect any sort of response would just have antagonised him further.

There are some very strange people in the world :s

Speaking of which, your "decidedly four-footed shadow" avatar reminded me of a webforum I saw reviewed a couple of days back. It's for people who are Wolves. I mean spiritually. They believe this trumps the fact they were born in homo sapiens bodies and spend a lot of time a) complaining about the racist abuse and ridicule they get from evil narrow-minded humans and b) typing *woof!* and *tail wags* to each other...

Many of their names are Shadow-something or other. Got anything you want to tell me dear? *grin*

Some people always have to take everything that bit too far.

I am not a wolf, I am a woman who aspires to be more wolf-like, and I don't have a tail to wag at anyone!

Haha! Just joking with you dear :-)
That place was almost as funny as the Otherkin sites...

I know you were joking, Dear :) Don't worry, I was amused, I should probably have put a *wink* at the end :)

The mind boggles. I think you were probably quite sensible in not replying. He's obviously got some issues going on there.

Yeah, the only thing that came into my head was "I'm very sorry you feel that way", but i didn't want to provoke a tirade, or worse, violence :(

A care in the community moment, perhaps? Mr Itchy and I had a similar-ish encounter the other day, though the bloke was less angry - just incomprehensible.

Dunno, he seemed quite sane, but who am I to judge? ;)
