*hugs* try not to get too stressed honey. Sorry to hear you've lost one of your earings, do you think it's in the flat?

Good luck at the vets - let me know how it goes. Have you got Gizmo booked in somewhere for her holidays?

Oh, 'fraid I'll not be able to meet up with you this weekend - completely booked up. Don't know what's happened in the last couple of weeks, just don't seem to have a moment!! Will have to get something arranged though, soon.

Unfortunately I lost the earring somewhere in town, probably in the changing room in Internationale so the chances of getting it back are slim to none. It's only a stud so I doubt anyone would have spotted it on the floor and handed it in - it probably ended up on hoover :(

Sorry to hear you're too busy for a meet up - let me know when you're free!

The thing that really shocked me about this whole issue is the number of people-on-the-street who seem to think holding people for 90 days without charge is a Good Idea.

I'd like each and every one of them to test out the theory themselves!

Unfortunately, I rather suspect this is due to the average person-on-the-street being white and middle class, and blindly assuming it'll never happen to me *sigh*

Oh yes, of course.

I was just absolutely astounded at the number of comments on the breakfast news this morning that were accusing MPs of trying to score points off each other rather than doing what was right for the country.

There was a fantastic article in Sunday's Independent about the whole issue which basically pointed out that there was no evidence that a 90 day holding period would have prevented the bombings in London.

Another point is that apparently, no-one has been charged on the basis of evidence collected over as long as 28 days, nevermind 90, so I'm somewhat at a loss as to why the police feel that they need 90 days!
