*cackles* Love love LOVE what you've done with this scene! Cloud's desperately thinking LET GO OF MY HAND, LET GO!!! and Seph's expression is just awesome. ♥ Cloud's hair is to die for and the background is great, heeee.
Haha, originally, considering the pose I was thinking it would be this sweet scene where Sephiroth would be all I AM HERE TO SAVE YOU MY LOVE and then I did that EXPRESSION and I just went LOL, that isn't a man you would want to save you AT ALL. He's so crazy eyed I can't even begin to think what Cloud's face looks like in response.
This one is so great, I love it! The pose is really good, and I believe that this is your best one so far. I just love Cloud's hair; it's so awesome, just like a Chocobo!
And I totally get the 'scary drag queen' reference. Hehehe!
Hee, Thank you! Cloud's hair was the LAST thing I did, since everyone I showed it to thought the figurine's hair as-is looked like a barnacle and couldn't tell wtf Cloud WAS since he's so close up. I caved to the pressure.
anita, my respect for you just grows. this is awesome. the feathering of the hair actually renders it lifelike. the positions of the models are fantastic and youve achieved a brilliant angle with almost perfect integration of the background.
now. the bad bits. you might want to get rid of cloud's moulding line. whether by a file or digital means it HAS to go. im not too keen or sure of the light sources. i know, if you integrate a background, you have to have a battle between (usually) multiple light sources, but i think the characters should be lighted from above slightly more. also seph's hair couldve been feathered as at the moment it looks like long grey sausages. also, if you made seph's eyes glow then it wouldve accounted for the gross shadowing. other than that... FANTASTIC.
Bitch, bitch bitch. I actually TRIED to get rid of the moulding line, but then it looks like I just smoothed over the entire thing and his flap looks like a giant blur. I gave up and left it in. The light angle drove me crazy, but since it was over exposed to begin with, I left it for the MELODRAMA. Yes I know it SHOULD be lighted from above more, but that would've meant reorienting the entire image's light spots and that was too hard to contemplate. Leave Sephiroth's sausage alone. If I made it anymore soft he REALLY WOULD HAVE looked like a drag queen. AND OMG HIS EYES ARE GLOWING. Arleh was all 'why are his eyes so goddamn bright?" and I BLAMED IT ON YOU. Any brighter he'd look like Children of the Corn
( ... )
1) get rid of the moulding line outside digital means then. 2) consider background before photoshoot and adjust light sources to match background 3) thats a very subtle eye glow there. use polar cooridinates with wind filter to create a fancy glow 4) youve done a good job on the background nevertheless.
