A Day in the Gardens

Yesterday was lovely. It was the best temperature, warm enough that I didn't need a jacket but cool enough that I could wear layers and long sleeves. It was sunny and bright and clear out too, and I went to explore the local gardens

Autumnal is a very good way to feel. Last night I went to bed excited to sleep under COVERS. Like more than one. I don't sleep right otherwise.

Yeah! I've been cheating and keeping a fan going to sleep under covers for a couple weeks now.

I really love fall, especially the smell of it.

It's wonderful to me how fall has the most distinctive seasonal smell -- like when it comes around we stop LOOKING and start SMELLING in earnest, you know? A shift in the senses.

Mm. And I love the look too! The fall leaves, and the crisp light at the end of day. But the first hints of fall are the smells and the cool air on my skin.
