Is today "brain-dead driver (and/or pedestrian) day" and someone forgot to inform/warn me?!

Honestly, in the course of driving to Leeds and back (c. 30 mins each way) I was confronted today with no less than FOUR brain-dead individuals who seemed hell-bent on killing either themselves or me - or possibly both! And that's leaving aside the usual

They always seem to come out all at once don't they? I remember my dad driving us home from Birmingham and we nearly had a dozen accidents - he ended up thinking we'd never make it home!

I think it's a general attitude these days of people being so wrapped up in their own world that they just have no basic awareness of other people or road users.
