I've been at Washington U. of St. Louis, at a "discovery weekend" extended college visit thingy. I left on Thursday morning and got back on Sunday afternoon. Sorry for the lack of updates - I had about 10min. on a computer the whole weekend. I'll not be writing one whole entry about the whole trip. Too much stuff happened. I'll eventually write a bunch of entries on specific parts of the trip, but for now here's a summary.
Important things that happened:
>I really like WashU. (Not that I didn't before.)
>There are astonishingly few really geeky girls. (This is distinct from math/sciency girls - the boys were actually outnumbered at the engineering info session.)
>Spaceballs is a really fun movie.
>WashU's engineering school sounds fantastic, for various reasons.
>I went to an Intro to Lx class and I think I impressed the prof, heh. (They were doing phonetics, complementary/contrastive distribution, what an allophone is, etc. which I've already learned informally.)
Most important thing that happened:
>I have a significant other now. Yay! (He was the only other person from the Bay Area at this weekend thing, so no long distance involved...double yay!)
