car seats

Talk to me about car seats.  I need to get Tessa a car seat. She has almost outgrown her infant seat and I would like to find something for her to use until she no longer needs a car seat or until I can purchase a backless booster (like around age 6-7).  I had a problem and was not able to do this for Jake because he is so tall and I had a really ( Read more... )

Let's see... I have a Britax Decathlon, Marathon and Roundabout. Don't get the Roundabout - she'll outgrow it too fast. I like the Marathon best because the slots for the straps (I think) are higher than the Decathlon so you can use it for longer.

If you want Britax, I think your only options are Marathon, Boulevard or Decathlon based on how long you want to use it (up to 65lbs and 49" I think).

I ordered our Marathon from Target (via ebates). The R and D were purchased at BRU.

We have a Marathon for N and love it. I purchased it online during the Britax sales.

Get a marathon. You really can't go wrong with that seat. And the britax sales are going on now, so you can find great prices. (Scratch that, the sales start 9/15)

Baby cheapskate is keeping track of the lowest prices. I'll get a link for you.

we have the marathon for both boys and all is well still - C is still about an inch below the top slot...he's much smaller than Jake - I figure we have another year for C and then we will probably get some sort of high back booster or the regent - but that one is soo huge! - he's so thin that I want to keep him in a 5 pt. harness as long as possible.

We have a Boulevard only because it cost less than the Marathon (I think I caught the end of the sale last year and only the pink/floral Marathons were left). I would definitely either go with a Marathon/Boulevard -- definitely skip the Roundabout (we have one of those too - but he'll probably outgrow it by next year).

I got mine from somewhere online. Maybe Babycenter? I know it also included free shipping!
