Belief
I am not a believer, never have been. I can't see how anyone could match up what happens in the world (2 year old Thai orphans with AIDS? 6 year olds with leukaemia? And all the rest of the crap that goes on) with a merciful God. Or even a vengeful one. How does that Thai orphan come to have any responsibility whatsoever that "deserves" ( Read more... )

I stumbled on your blog earlier in the year and have been reading it ever since. Knowing of your illness and the long gaps of late always make me worry about how you are doing. So when a new entry from you appears I sigh a big sigh of relief - to know that you are alive and feeling well enough to post something. (I was also so pleased that you got to Tahiti a few months ago).
Your opinions/posts are original, insightful and often entertaining. And I have also learned a great deal about how I can help and understand the experience of a couple of friends also facing life-threatening illnesses.
I just wanted to let you know this.
