The one thing I come back to time and again is Tori Amos. She's amazing. Also Kate Bush and Roxy Music.

This week? I'm liking Pinback, Tame Impala, the Birthday Massacre, Conjure One and Art in Manila.

Favorite band? Uh. If you mean favorite rock band, Kasabian. But musically...Shearwater. But they aren't really rock. Also should add my emo downtempo faves, Trespassers William.

Noticed something interesting about our lists...I've listed 11 bands/artists. 6 of them have female vocalists. Your list has none...

I don't have any female vocalist I really like. Except maybe hte singer of an obscure (swedish?)group called "Taken by trees" which song "lost and found" really gets at me.
I'm not attracted to any female character in fandom, either. I generally get fandoms where there are no women.

It must say something about me, I suppose. I'm in no hurry to know what.

I'm perfectly happy if there are no women in a story , like DV. But music is music. If a vocalist is talented, the gender doesn't make any difference to me.
