We once made a bet with our physics teacher, which he lost and had to buy the entire class brownies. It was the best period in the entire semester :D

Your classes sound way more fun than the bio classes I had in high school!

I went to a selective school, which I think is a bit like a magnet school? You have to do well in an entrance exam to get in. Anyway, despite being possibly the best girls' school in Sydney, our science teachers were hopeless. Only the girls who had a natural talent for science did well. I *wanted* to learn chemistry and biology but it was taught badly, so I ended up dropping science altogether in my final two years of high school. I wish you had been my teacher! I think I would have gone much further with science if I'd had someone like you, I mean, both my parents are cognitive scientists! Ah well. Instead I did epic amounts of French despite living on the other side of the world from France.

That is awesome. A supportive principal makes up for a LOT of other things, and you're a fantastic teacher as it is.

ha ha... that's great! I am curious too!!

My high school bio teacher was wonderful and yet eclectic. He would motivate us by offering us "kisses" & "hugs"! lol... we were in Singapore and had no idea about Hershey's kisses/hugs! :P But he was cool! But mostly I remember stuff even now! Am sure your students will too!!

My Calc teacher gave us Tootsie rolls. Being in Taiwan, we had no idea about Tootsie rolls either, but so delicious!
