First day of school (for Erika and I)

First day of school for me was officially Monday. We had a special celebration--- thankfully closed to the public and media--- that was just for us, the students, the parents, the faculty. The students walked down the main road and it just felt great. The A/C doesn't work in some buildings but we don't care. We're missing some electrical things and ( Read more... )

this too!! A friend had introduced the term and it has stuck at our home! It's like pulling teeth to find out what D did at school.. her teacher reassures us that it's quite common! Give it some time and you will be wishing her to stop! Lets see! :)

I'm so glad you were able to go back to the old school! That makes me all teary just reading it - I would have been an emotional wreck if I had been a teacher there. :)

I totally get you on the preschooler-acting-like-teenager thing. I watched Andrew in his tae kwon do class today, grinning from ear to ear, LOVING every minute of it, totally into doing all the moves and yelling his little guts out. I tried to talk to him about it on the way home in the car, and he would barely give me one-word responses. If I hadn't watched him, I would have thought it was the dullest thing he'd ever done.
