Oh no! Is she ok?
If she is, it's kind of funny too. We have those baby swings at some of our playgrounds that just have leg holes on one side and then a chain on the other (instead of leg holes on both sides) and I put Q in one once because she wanted to and then she just slid right out. After I made sure she was ok it was really funny.

She was fine. The silver lining of her surgery has been that she has a newfound perspective for pain. Falling from a swing? Not real pain. Tripping and eating dirt? Not real pain. Scraping her elbow and bleeding? Not real pain.

Invasive surgery with a drain in her side and pain meds while she lies on the couch for 72 hours without moving? That's pain!

Here's the video of her, 1 minute after her fall.

Before her surgery, she'd have cried.

But now she's a real trooper, now that she realizes what REAL pain feels like. She fell, ate dirt, got up, and said "ouch, that hurt." I brushed off her knees, then I said "did it hurt a lot?" and she thought about it, and said "no, just little bit" and got back on the swing.

It's all about perspective!

Here's the follow up video of her on the same swing, 1 minute later. Note the new stains on her knees!

GRAVITY CHECK! Yup, still works, and she's off and running to the next adventure.

I love the giggles, if peace had a sound, that would be it.

I remember when the stains on the knees and how dirty the bottoms of feet were, were the determining factors of how good a day was.

We love the daycare that we send Erika to-- they are very nature-oriented and hands-on discovery-type, and the first few times when we'd pick her up, and she'd be covered in dirt, mud, glue, sparkles, food, etc.... they tried to apologize and I'd tell them "no, it's a sign she had a good day!"
