my kids both dislike nuts for some reason, but i've fed them whole apples, sliced apples, sliced grapes, sliced veggie hot dogs, and raisins (which they now both hate as well), and popcorn before the age of two. like someone else said, i just watch them really closely and am right there while they are eating, and we've never had an issue.

Nuts are allergens so I waited on those. Apples I peeled until baby was a bit better with the skin chewing, your baby/mileage may vary. Popcorn I bit/picked the hull off before feeding it to baby; with my kid popcorn was/is a huge favorite so good luck with him NOT eating it, know what I mean? We just didn't do candy or gummies until he was older. I'm *that* kind of mom.
