James pressed soft, little kisses to Andrew’s forehead and temple. He held him close, arms wrapped firmly around his back as he lay on top of him.
Andrew’s body quaked, ever so slightly, as the last bolts of adrenaline, as they came trickling to a stop. He laid his head in the crook of James’s neck, one hand threaded through his hair, the other at his chest. He breathed deeply, as though he had nearly drowned. He relaxed completely against his lover’s body, James still buried deep inside him.
James closed his eyes. The night was nearly over, their time together coming to a rapid close. He pushed all thoughts of duty and of life away. It was where he would be, but not where he was, and he would cherish every minute of the present, with Andrew in his arms.
