Oh god, if you're an Uber Nerd, I'm not sure what that makes me. I've found myself researching the most ridculous things for fics. Most recently I was trying to figure out what a historically accurate birthday cake would look like/be made of. I was already thinking of writing a birthday fic (or in this case, more like an unbirthday fic), and I figured hey, I could work in your navyboys and food challenge, too. Unfortunately, I discovered that buttercream frosting was not invented until the mid-nineteenth century. :p So back to the drawing board.
You could always cheat. That's the beauty of fics. I for one wouldn't care if it were a type of frosting technically not yet invented if it led to naughty acts with the boys. :)
It's just an example of me being far too obsessive about details. I haven't even started the birthday fic yet, and I have no idea what I'll end up doing for the food challenge, though I definately want to write something. Plus I'm working on the next fic in the OUAT arc. And god help me, I'm about to give in and write Sparrington, I think. *headdesk*
Holy crap you're me. Obsessive about details, (sometimes) to the extreme, can't pass up a fic challenge, working on huge arcs of correlating fics, always starting something new, always tons of stuff on the table...
*laughs*
Sparrington? I is curious now... I like that pairing, tried my hand at it a few times... never totally satisfied with the results, but... meh. Got sucked into Navyboy land and haven't come out since.
Rebecca Ahoy!
PS: I will completely accept butter cream frosting with the food challenge, even if not period. :P I don't even like frosting and now you've got me craving it. Damn. Also- another in the QUAT series?! *squees* Though I don't know if I can handle angst right now... this last one, that was okay... but as much as I want to go back and read the others, or read the actual Brigger stories... I can't bring myself to do it... Maybe when all this shite I'm dealing with now is over... then maybe...
Yep, that's exactly how I am. The problem at the moment is that I have all these plotbunnies and projects, and I can't seem to focus myself enough to work on any of them. I was going to tonight but...ugh. Nothing
( ... )
Yah, I'm having the same problem, actually- but I guess before this, over break at at the end of last semester, I didn't even have any viable plotbunnies, if bunnies at all. Now I have more, not as many as usual, but no actual ability to work with them. Though one may be promising- a continuation of a Lovers100 story, Gillington, with a reclusive!Andrew and a jealous!James (of Teddy, of course.). Working on that one, anyway
( ... )
Random and funny and silly...you're on. :) I think I've got the perfect plotbunny I can dust off for just such an occasion. *evil grin* And I can even make it comply with the food challenge.
*claps* yay! Now I've got to come up with something- shouldn't be too much of a hardship. And perhaps I'll be able to work in the food challenge criteria as well. :P
