the robots are apparently in charge, the toaster, wall-e the robot, rose is adorable when she's asleep, fluffy the robot, bolt the robot baby

Of course. They threatened to go on strike.

Then I threatened to wipe their brains, so they threatened to toast mine. We came to an understanding that I would tidy the lab.

Given that Wall-E and the Toaster have enough one their hands... appendages/limbs with one baby, I don't think we're in any danger of that.
